Today was a beautiful day!! The rain last night settled the dust and the temperatures were far more tolerable--even nice!! I guess the boys had participated in a 5K run this morning. By the time we came back to camp, it was late afternoon and they were showing signs of being tired. The activities end at 5:00 p.m. and the boys were beginning to gather in camp. As with any camping trip, the best part about being there is just doing nothing for a few minutes. We enjoyed a nice visit with 2024 and their great scout leaders Lynn, Boyd and Paul. (Barry was out seeing the sights.)
Boys learn from just sitting around, visiting with the adults and listening to truths that are expressed as part of casual conversation. These boys were relaxing along with the rest of us. When we wanted to take their pictures, some of them chose to be suddenly asleep or making funny faces. Rest assured that they were in great spirits eating pbj sandwiches and snacking while comparing patches with one another.
